Hi! I’m Colleen.

I graduated from the University of the Pacific with a bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene. At the time, airway dentistry was not part of our curriculum (it probably still isn’t) and I had never heard of orofacial myofunctional disorders. Years later I met my husband who is an airway trained dentist, and he realized that the person he was sleeping next to suffered from a sleep breathing disorder. I was diagnosed with Upper Airway Respiratory Syndrome (UARS) and was prescribed a CPAP by a sleep physician which I never even considered trying. Wanting to learn more about my condition, I started my myofunctional therapy training and began understanding my own orofacial myofunctional symptoms and tongue-tie. I ended up being my own first patient and put myself through therapy sessions and had a frenectomy performed. After having been through it all myself I believe I can actually be a better therapist to my patients. Myofunctional therapy has improved my breathing, sleeping, eating, posture, and overall wellness. Myofunctional therapy is life-changing and I am excited to help you begin your journey to healthier living.
